Rating: PG-13Why we love it: This really was just beautifully written. Simplistic but still dashingly poetic, it doesn’t need a bunch of bells and whistles to get the point across. The idea of Mycroft being a statue is…gorgeous, and the awkwardness of it all is touching. I would love to see a sequel to this wherein Lestrade makes a statue of Sherlock for John just to see the differences in the elder and younger Holmes and how John would react compared to Greg. I found this on practically the last page of Archive Of Our Own after days of reading mediocre fic, and it really is just a diamond in the ruff. Bravo, just…bravo.
The last 20 minutes ~ A Mystrade Fanfiction
Summary: 8 year old Mycroft Holmes never intended to attend school but now he’s stuck there in the name of socialization. At least his seat mate, Gregory Lestrade, is willing to attempt to pull Mycroft from his shell.
Notes: I have been tossing the idea of a writing Mystrade around for a bit but couldn’t think of a single idea, until I was inspired by mystradedoodles paperchibi’s to write this. It’s all fluff and cuteness. I have no idea what Mycroft’s paperchibi will look like so WHOOT for artistic license. Thanks to Shika for helping me brainstorm and reading this thing.
