I Know the Steps but I Don’t Know the Dance by stardust_made

Rating: NC-17

Summary: None

Review: It’s a very slow and confusing courtship (as Mycroft calls it), but you can see that they care and the conversations are really well-written, the whole fic is really. There’s so much angst, holding back and then realizations and perfection. Loved the whole thing.

Summary: In a world where wings reflect one’s heart, a man named Mycroft Holmes hides his wings which have never grown deep inside, under the mask that is himself. (omg still shit summary. help)

Warning: AU, wing!fic, gay, manlove, pining/denial of said pining, homoerotic writing (most of this in the future)

Note: I will start all the dates with the main story following Sherlock, but after a time I will make my own dates, because I’m not gonna write Sherlock dying. Nope. Not gonna do it.

Rating: M
Summary: A shooting leaves Lestrade with brain damage, and Mycroft as a lover that no one knew about. With all his power to move the world rendered useless, Mycroft and everyone else struggles to cope.

There hadn’t been anything else interesting in the pile of personal possessions. A few notes, a bullet and a the things anyone walking the planet would have had in their pockets. His life was a big nothing. What did it say about a man who only had an unknown ‘M’ as a clue? Pathetic.

I never look on fanfiction.net anymore - do many people post there or read there? Because I found this one through googling, and CLEARLY this is someone to keep an eye on!

Fic Rec: Defining Perfection ›

Author: heeroluva
Rating:

Summary: Mycroft’s relationship with Lestrade is certainly not perfect and is far from normal, but it works for them.

Mycroft had just scoffed the one time that Lestrade had asked him if he thought it strange, their relationship. Of course it was in the eyes of society. As accepting and forward thinking as the general public had become in modern times, the idea of two men in a relationship that was more than platonic but did not contain sex was hard for many to grasp. However, Mycroft neither cared what others thought or felt the need to share his relationship with them.

Summary : Omit needless words… . When repeating a statement to emphasize it, the writer may need to vary the form.”

Strunk & White, The Elements of Style

(In fact there is no summary but the author quoted this before the proper narration and I thinkit sums up the fanfiction quite well)

Fic Rec: Black Mail ›

Author: Vampira Maxwell
Rating: M
Summary: Mycroft has a secret that he wants to keep quiet. That’s the point of a secret, after all. And it isn’t just his reputation on the line. But, secrets have a way of being found out…

“Tonight, 915, my place.”
“I’m at a crime scene, this is hardly decent.”
“Why?”
“Dead body…”
“I fail to see your logic.”
“Making dates over dead bodies is a bit unseemly.”
“Be on time.”

Fic Rec: You Cannot Libel the Dead ›

Author: marysutherland
Rating: M (for language, nothing more)
Summary: Mycroft’s hiding in the Diogenes Club after Sherlock’s death, but someone’s coming to get him.

Mycroft’s had always presumed that if anyone came after him it would be John; Lestrade hadn’t seemed to suspect anything at the funeral. But it’s probably easy enough to guess from where Kitty Riley got some of her information, even if John hasn’t spilled the beans by now. And Greg’s career - his life - has been wrecked by Sherlock’s death as well. Not surprising what a broken man might decide to do, he supposes.
